Acupuncture For Varicose Veins

What causes Varicose Veins?

Varicose veins are primarily caused by weakened   or damaged vein walls and valves, leading to poor   blood flow and pooling.

Factors contributing to their development include genetics, age, prolonged standing or sitting, obesity, pregnancy, hormonal changes, and a sedentary lifestyle.

How Does Acupuncture help Varicose Veins?

It helps in the following ways:

  • Improving blood circulation

  • Strengthening vein walls

  • Reducing inflammation

  • Promoting lymphatic drainage

  • Addressing underlying imbalances

How it is done?

Acupuncture involves applying manual pressure using thin, sterile, disposable needles at various depths to specific parts of a body along invisible lines of energy flow called Meridians or pathways.

A qualified acupuncturist will first examine you and assess your condition. He will then ask you to either sit or lie down on your back, front or side depending on where your condition exists. There are at least 14 meridians that connect your internal organs with other parts of your body. The acupuncturist will then access the energy flow of these meridians through 350 documented acupuncture points in the body.

He will either use his fingers or fine, sterile needles during the procedure. You may feel a brief stinging or tingling sensation when they insert the needle. After the needle gets inserted, you might feel a dull ache at the base of the needle, which will go away after a while. These procedures are relatively painless.
